RIDING SCHOOL
Windsor-Essex Equestrian Centre welcomes youth riders of all experience levels to come and join our riding school. We offer a variety of programs and activities such as lessons, horsemanship camps, EC rider level certification and rookie rider clinics at our top-of-the-line facility with qualified staff who are committed to the enjoyment and safety of all our riders. WEC ensures that rider safety and comfort is found in all aspects of our program with well-trained school horses, certified coaches, maintained equipment and a secure environment for both rider and horse. WEC focuses on developing well-rounded equestrians in an out of the saddle and helping our riders to reach their goals.
Riding Lessons
We sell beginner packages in 4 week sessions where the student will be in 30 minute private lessons to establish the basics of riding, tacking up the horse and how to work around the horse safely. Riders will then join a 1 hour group lesson with 3 or more riders of the same experience level.
Riders who already have experience riding prior to joining WEC can have a trial lesson before joining the appropriate group lesson.

Rookie Riders
Rookie Riders is a program that teaches activities and skills that are fundamental to success in horseback riding. Coach Jessica is a certified Rookie Rider instructor and offers rookie rider clinics for our WEC riders throughout the year. It includes basic gymnastics on mats and on a “barrel horse”. It is a core skill building program that benefits all riding disciplines. It is also a safe opportunity to introduce the sport to children.
EC Rider Levels
The Equestrian Canada Learn to Ride program provides an opportunity for riders to progress and demonstrate their skills through a series of increasingly complex written tests, interviews, and under-saddle jump and flat tests.
Horsemanship Camps
Horsemandship Camps are available to our riding school students and are held during school breaks. Children will learn everything from horse anatomy, horse care, and barn management in a fun and safe environment. As well as working with the horses, the children get to play games, go on scavenger hunts, and do arts and crafts. Horsemanships camp is great way for riders to become more well-rounded equestrians and build life long friendships.
